Hey guys? How are you all doing? I am just posting to ask if anybody has any news concerning Adobe and its plans with the Linux platform. All news are welcome!
Many thanks
Stay cool and have a nice day!

I would be much more interested if they brought their prices down a bit. It's stupidly overpriced at the moment!
And this is why I hope they don't make a Linux or Mac version. With all the platform invoke calls in any major software, it costs millions to produce a version for a new operating system.
Even if all 22 Linux users went out and paid full price for the program, it wouldn't justify the programming cost. Which means they push the cost on to the rest of their customers and Whym pays too much.

Actually according to http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_os.asp Linux users are as many as Vista users and just a bit fewer than Mac users. In my opinion 3,4% of the world market is a respectable percentage. So if Adobe did produce its programs for Linux it would gain nearly as much as it does from it's Mac users.
Thanks

I think most Linux users are accustomed to not having to pay for software. Photoshop is very expensive! There are a lot of respectable lenses you can buy for less. With The Gimp freely available, I don't think this is a market Adobe would do well in.
I agree. I think that photoshop would not appeal to so many existing Linux users, but imagine how many Windows users that do use Photoshop and pay for it would instantly migrate to Linux. I think that the 3,4% of Linux users world wide would jump up 20%-30% within the 1st cemester that Adobe released its products. That means that Adobe would be able to sell to Linux and Linux would become more of a Standard OS.
Anyway, this is me rambling... I might be way off, but I am not against wishful thinking. It makes things more interesting.
