The Right Brain vs Left Brain test ... do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise?
If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa.
Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it.
LEFT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses logic
detail oriented
facts rule
words and language
present and past
math and science
can comprehend
knowing
acknowledges
order/pattern perception
knows object name
reality based
forms strategies
practical
safe
RIGHT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses feeling
"big picture" oriented
imagination rules
symbols and images
present and future
philosophy & religion
can "get it" (i.e. meaning)
believes
appreciates
spatial perception
knows object function
fantasy based
presents possibilities
impetuous
risk taking

I always seen clockwise.
sometime is anticlockwise.
how about you

Clockwise and I'd agree with most of that stuff concerning right brain functions. I'd say I had some of the left brain functions too though.
Something very interesting was testing the sex of your brain (no this isn't nudity! lol) Scientists believe that men can have female brains, and vice versa. This is all to do with the hormonal makeup during pregnancy etc. - I also found out that all children start off as female and then at a certain number of weeks, the hormones increase to start development of the sex organs etc. choosing whether the child will be a girl or a boy.
The test is on the BBC's web site here. The link to the test itself is about 1/4 the way down the page (don't look at the rest of the page or it'll spoil the test!)

Clockwise. Although some how when I was looking at it, it started to slow down. But that could just be the computer.
EDIT: I closed my eyes for a few seconds and then it started going anticlockwise for about 10 seconds, but then revented back to clockwise.

Lol it slowed down (or could be the computer). That statement made me laugh.
I've got a male brain too - good at mapreading and things although not very good at emotions and recalling object movements etc.

Both for me. The male/female brain test is about 56% female...probably why I understand programming, I go hunting, my dad loves the way I give directions and yet I have a very feminine side.

I saw both too. I really think the image literally changes...its a hoax!!! (or is it?)
I stared at it for a while and could only see it going clockwise...then all of the sudden, it switched to counter-clockwise. Then I stared at it some more. All of the sudden it changed back to clockwise.

I only saw clockwise, but I'm largely left-brained. Are you sure this test is right?

Forget dancer and watch the shadow and you’ll see that shadow always moving
clockwise even when dancer is moving anticlockwise
I say - hoax

Or stare at the space around the shadow. This is a brilliant illusion. I've not seen many well-done 4th dimension ones. There are, of course, the more commonly-seen 2-D ones like the vase-faces, the old woman and young woman in the same image. The question of this one, though, is do you see clockwise motion or counterclockwise motion first? For me, it was clockwise motion, but when focusing on the space around the figure could actually see both. But then, I'm ambidextrous, and about equally right- and left-brained.

I think the animation was made to force us to see CW at first.
The figure is perpendicular to the floor if seen going CW. But if you see her going
CCW then she is leaning at an angle, which wouldn't make sense. This depends on
whether or not you view her at an assumed "camera" angle from head/chest level.

fastreplies, not sure what you're on about "hoax" as this is clearly not a real picture.
But if the shadow was going CW, as you say, the shadow of the swinging foot would
be seen during the backswing, not the foreswing.

Animation has nothing to do with your brain activities. Image you see was
build using 34 frames 26 of which go clockwise and 9 anti. That’s all to it

I'm trying to so hard to make the dancing girl go counter-clockwise and I CAN'T DO IT! urrgh.
Apparently I have slightly more of a man-brain. I scored about 25% male. Probably because I rocked the rotation test (12/12!) and bombed on the word test (8 words than 7)

It started clock-wise, I read some posts, and she started going counter-clockwise.... I scrolled back up. Clock-wise again. Started getting worried that I was stuck for a moment.
