Been looking through his War on the Middle Class book; it raises a lot of valid points. But I'd prefer to focus on the message rather than the messenger. If you put someone else's face on it, the view on it would change for most.

These things are not mutually exclusive. A hero can definitely be a mad man.

From what I know, Lou Dobbs is a fat guy ranting from a safety of news studio. A hero he is likely not. He might not even be a madman.

Lou Dobbs had someone on his show explaining how Mexicans carry leprosy over the border. If he's not a madman, he's giving them voice.

But then Glenn Beck is truly demented.

Sometimes giving a madman voice is the quickest way to kill him. But this illustrates my point. Put the talking heads of Dan Rather or Rush Limbaugh on this idea and it changes things entirely.

The sky is blue. The middle class is being systematically annihilated.

I don't think I would classify Dan Rather as a talking head. Keith Olbermann, sure, but Dan, as far as I can tell, was railroaded for reporting something true using what turned out to be untrue documents to back it up.

Is he right when he calls Republicans AND Democrats ‘incompetent idiots’ and
White House administration ‘morons’?

I happen to like Lou Dobbs.. but then I've been accused of being a 'flaming liberal' more than once. Maybe it's my age, most of what Lou Dobbs says is exactly the way I feel about so many issues. He's right, the middle class is under attack.. and since my generation makes up a large part of that middle class, and we VOTE, we need to make ourselves heard!

IMO, he's absolutely RIGHT - they ARE imcompetent idiots and morons ..the biggest of which sits in the Oval Office !!!!

In today's America, few people like the idea that something can be offensive and true. The things that Lou Dobbs says pisses a lot of people off (I'm looking at you, illegal immigrants). The fact that most of it is true gets lost in this idea that liberals believe everyone has a right not to be offended.

I like Lou because he is extremely frank and does not subscribe to the idea that he must temper his remarks for the protection of anyone's feelings.

Truth is truth and no measure of plastic civility will change that. Keep doing what you're doing, Lou.
