I was thinking about it this morning. I'm a career programmer, and I'm no joke with the data science. But I only know HTML from working with XML so much. But it turns out its different stuff. With help from LadyNRed, Adam Web Design, and others I've been able to pull my head out of my rectum and have some idea what's going on. I even know why tables suck! 
There's all kind of discussions in here that have exposed me to ideas I never dreamed of. I learned a lot about SEO which is funny because I don't really use it much for my site, I just understand how the most important thing in today's world ( information) works today.
And all the heated debates in here! Lots of forums cut things off whenever they get controversial, but the people in here are mature more than on other forums I saw. People know how to be respectful and how to be able to disagree with somebody's idea without tearing them a new one. And that's not just about politics, but the direction of the net, Macs and Windows, spam, net neutrality, all kinds.
