I agree with this myself. I think it is very rare to find an entirely unique site that hasn't been duplicated in some sort of shape or manner, but as long as you put your unique twist on the subject matter, I think it is still possible to get plenty of exposure. But it does take a lot of promotional efforts!

Too right. IE6 is a huge pain and so many people still use it!

I think one of the biggest challenges is that there is always something more to learn. You learn css, html, php, asp, then there's seo, etc. Don't get me wrong, one of the main reasons I got hooked on technology is because I love to learn new things, but I also think it's close to impossible to know everything there is to know and always have the answer to someone else's questions/problems.

Yes that's probably true. I think I'll limit myself to certain things for a long time - I know some HTML and CSS now, so I guess I need to learn PHP and Javascript. I've got a basic knowledge of SEO too which helps

I think it's more beneficial though if people are less a "jack of all trades" and more of an expert in a field. This brings to mind a quote I read in my diary - "An expert is a person who knows more and more about less and less". It's true - sadly I don't know who this was by. I just love that quote though.
