Have you ever heard of a good emergency?

A lot has been going on in Pakistan. Musharraf has been loosing credibility with the people he rules over. He sacked the head of the supreme court, and declared martial law. This lets him postpone the election for up to a year, since even Musharaf has had to admit he's not very popular.

It's because he jumped in Bush's pocket. Bin Laden is more popular in Pakistan than Musharref. The man is so eager to look like he's part of the war of terror that he's terrorizing his own citizens.

Musharref is losing his hold on power. I think there is a good chance that someone else from the army will take control. At least for a while.

100 of human right activist and masses are being arrested by Pakistani military and announced there an ergency but Bush has no comment on that. By Bush administrators has been announced, “It will be business as usual with Pakistan despite the declaration of emergency and a crack down on civil liberties by its military ruler Pervez Musharaf.” By the times of India (times glogbal). I want to know also where is the Bush's Civil liberties?

Good question Austin. Though it should be rhetorical. Bush has never shown own ounce of caring for anyone's civil liberties whether in the U.S. or not. Except maybe Scooter Libby's.

Hi Guys !
I wonder, if anyone of you are pakistani ?
well
before emergency, there was one or two blasts on daily basis, now it's peace here.
before emergency, culprits and terrorists were free because of CJ of Pakistan, now they are in jails or on run.
before emergency, there were road blocks, protest, threat to common man walking on the road by paid lawyers, now it's peacful
before emergency, there was huge crisis in courts, and only cases necessory for CJ were heard, now, normal cases are being trial in courts.
before emergency, media was creating news and now, it's quite peaceful.
the list will continue, if i continue to write,

but as a person who don't want violence, as a muslim who condemn the killings of innocent non-muslims, as a pakistani who want to see a peaceful, progressive pakistan.
we appreciate Respect Mr. Mushraff. We understand, and appreciate his efforts to save Pakistan.
We love Mushraff and Pak Army.
I would request for all people to understand and reach to the ground realities, and not to just believe blindly on media hype.

Very glad you posted that. Unfortunately sometimes there is a need for martial law. It should always be a last resort, and conventions and human rights should be adhered to, and I hope that the necessity will be short-lived. I hope you'll keep us posted on your experiences there.
