I know this is a multi-national site, but to those that celebrate it....
Happy Veteran's Day!
Thanks to all those that have served or are serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. And a special thanks to those that have given all for our freedoms.
If you have served or are serving, please let us know the years and branch.

I proudly served 8 years in the U.S. Army.
I salute everyone that has served this country and defended our rights to freedom.

People who died for freedom have no national identity
They are heroes regardless what language they spoke

That's kind of irrelivant, why do you post "I don't care" in a thread about Veteran's Day. That's just rude and offensive, all it serves to do is send this thread flying off topic.
Happy late Veteran's Day (I was at work most of yesterday).

Were it not for the United States your country would have been in the death grip of the Soviet Union, right along with Norway and Finland, and you would not have the right to have that smug, cocky attitude. Why don't you ask folks from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania how fun that was?
How's that for one?
And it's kinda late for midsummer, perhaps you meant a late Samhain or an early Yule?

How about we turn that around and say when did Sweden ever help anyone or fight for someone else?
Second World War. If it weren’t for the fact that the USA was attacked and brought into the War, the world would be a different place today.
And please note, I'm British and proud of it. I'm not American but at least I acknowledge the fact that countries around the world pay tribute to their fallen, and I have great respect for anyone who was killed in any war.
People were killed for your freedom, but it's idiots like you that have no respect.

Let me put it to you this way.
Over 50 millions died in 1st and 2nd world Wars so you can have freedom to freely bad mouth memories of those who lost their loved one. You don’t have to share their grief or to celebrate your very existence but least you can do is to try to be decent human being and to respect memories about people who never will be able to tell you how lucky you are to be able to shut your mouth open in the first place

Y'know, Americans tend to get a bad rep for being elitist, but you have just demonstrated to all of us that if that is true we are far from being alone. Perhaps you should apply your extreme arrogance to something you actually know something about.
