I need to know what is the usual excuse you normally use or heard if someone is late to work.

Usual I arrive at work on time. However some days if I hit heavy traffic I can be late by about 15 minutes.

Anyway if your late for work just tell the true instead of looking for some bad excuse.

I had all the Hooter's girls, and the Manager, write a tardy excuse for me after a long... lunch.

Long Lunch at Hooters... $36.00 + Tip
A pack of smokes and some gas on your way back from Lunch... $15.77
The look on your Supervisor's face when you hand him a tardy excuse from the Hooters waitresses... Priceless.

I was late for work one day because I was brushing my teeth and my daughter was aggravating me immensely. When I was half way to work I realized I had not put my partials back in when I was done brushing! I left my boss a voicemail, went home, put them in, then went to work. My boss knew my daughter & has a son about the same age so he believed me completely and 5 years later we still joke about Kaitlyn making me forget my teeth

A friend of mine had a deer run over his car. That's not backwards, either. He had to make an insurance claim, so it took him about an hour.

and I got his laud and clear message instantly

Well, I don't have a boss anymore. But, when I did I was never late for work.

Calling in sick was another matter. When I did I would usually make up something
that was so embarrassing or gross that my boss would feel uncomfortable talking
about it and excuse me.

Don't know i got no experience with going on time to work (never worked my life and i plan to not ever work on the rest of my life :P ) even at school i was late ahh the good old days......

Just tell him you got awake late
