Hi,

I have a question for anyone who is (or was) involved with using cd's and or dvd's as a method of marketing their products for sale. My question is how do you know what is the most compatible media to use for your distribution? I ask this because in the past I have used numerous brands of cd and dvd media (for my own purpose, not marketing) and some worked w/ my dvd drive and some didn't...I'm not sure if it's because of a software issue, my cd/dvd drive, or the media itself. Just curious as to what would be the 'best' meaning most compatible and reliable for my clients. I won't be charging my clients for the cd's / dvd's...I am 'banking' on the content of the cd / dvd to bring in some extra income, so obviously, I would want the person receiving the media to be able to view it.

Thank you in advance!
-Brian

Simple solution would be to ask your client which format he/she wants to receive
and then you cut whatever they order. This way you won't over stock yourself

Depends. Is it a game that only runs on the newest 4 GB Core 2 systems? Or is it text content a computer made in 1978 can read? Your question might already be answered.

I'd say CD over DVD for general purpose. And a slow burn.

It's not a game, in fact, it's a product showcase (all html pages) that will be used to sell products...Not of the video game sort though...

I am going with fastreplies on this one, because he / she is definitely has the right idea in my opinion, I am going with his / her idea.

Thanks alot, fastreplies! It's always the simple solution that usually works best, but always too hard to remember when you have tons of techno-bable to sort through first. Now that the hard part is done with, like I said, I am going with fastreplies on this one.

Thanks again, fastreplies!
