I have for quite some time been really disappointed about the lack of Web Design Laws. I mean like Murphy's Laws. Almost everything have laws except web design. I think it's about time we change that and discuss some laws that could be fun and appropriate. We here do after all have some experience so I think well come up with something.

I have made a blog post here about it and I intend to publish some more laws. You can look there for inspiration if you like.

Here are a few I came up with:

Emil’s Principles

· The most loved design are the ones that don’t exist

· Making a perfect website is not possible as long as its' intention is to be used

· A design only feel new the first time you look at it

· Unlike how things work in programming every problem is a bug not a feature

Let's make some laws!!

Good design is in an eye of the beholder, bad design is in everybody eyes.

What? There are already laws so it's not such a unique idea. They are called 'Standards' and some regions like the U.S. are implemented into actual laws such as the The Web Accessibility Initiative ( WAI ).

"
The Laws On Your Client’s Behavior
· Your client always thinks he knows more about web design than you do
· Your client never knows their or their site’s own good
· No matter how thorough you test your application, when you make your first live install at the customer’s site, it will break
· A site cannot be designed without a purpose and content and your client will give you neither"

What?? This doesn't sound like a very good way to build a customer base. Actually it sounds like crap and is poorly written.

I wouldn't recommend your laws to any of these members, not to anyone for that matter.

If it's meant for humor than... I guess. Thinking about it now, I'm sorry if I sounded rude - I'm usually not the rude one, lol.

There are some few rules which is also important

Check the site for errors.

Develop for multiple browsers.

Don't forget the content.

Color choice is critical.
