I'm curious to see who is insane like me and is going out shopping Black Friday? My kids and I will leave my house at 3:30 AM to go shopping. This is the 6-7 year we have done it.

*Have* to be at Staples before 5:30. Preferably by 5:00. Good tech deals are a must

Two weeks later. The sales will be better. And for tech deals, the week after Xmas, if you're buying for you.

Hey, those are the only deals I look for.
My wife takes care of the "other" deals.

Of course, she's learned her lesson from past years.
Most of our holiday shopping is done online now.

No way! If the quanities of the sale items were not limited to a few per store, I Might venture out. The way this sorry game is played there are only a few winners per item per store.

I have absolutely no desire to perpetuate such a business model. Over all I can buy it online, delivered to my door for only a few $ more.

3:30AM? My plan of action is to do my xmas shopping on the Internet, or at least wait until the very last minute and go down the shops.

Wow, it's all split - 6 votes -3/3/3

We start our Christmas shopping early. I hate holiday crowed and the mad rush at sales. One time someone elbowed my grandma to get to some doll, I think it was the ever popular Elmo at the time. My temper doesn't do well in situation like this so I try to avoid them. Holiday Cheer!

At least here Staples is very orderly on Black Friday. Everyone lines up starting at around 5 and we stand around and talk. about 5:30 the manager brings out coffee and donuts. All the sale items they put on cards. Close to 6, they go down the line handing out the cards for items on the from page of their advertisement. It is first come, first serve. So when you get in the store there is no mad rush. At least no one pushing anybody I mean come on, it's tech deals

Tim, other deals don't make it in my ears

Wow, that sounds nice. I gave up on shopping around this time years ago but maybe it's time for a change of heart. Surely if they do that there, they do it here right? I'll have to look into it first though. Thanks

Black Friday shopping is like that where I live too. It's kind of funny because there are some people you get to know while waiting in the line that you see the following year. Last year we went to Sears first because my daughter wanted an electric guitar and they had a kit with amp, earbuds and the guitar, extra strings and a beginners book for $50, plus a $10 gift card to the first 50 people, so I paid $40 plus tax for it. This year we are going to Kohl's first because they have some really good deals that I can't post that I'm buying because one of my kids reads WT

Now you've really got me thinking Kandi. I love sleep but Kohls is sounding pretty tempting. They have such great deals anyway. Before reading this thread, I would have never given it a second thought. It's not like I'll be taking the grandparents this year. Oh great, like I need another excuse to spend money

Kimberly, I sent you a PM with one of the websites you can see the ads now I do it because my money goes farther on Black Friday. One of the deals I'm getting from Kohl's for my step-mom is a spa basket with brand name lotion, bath gel, and a fuzzy robe in a pretty wicker basket for $19.99.

Friday 3:30 AM we were at Staples. Bought two Compaq Presario Laptops for $381 (including tax) each. About half price! Plus a 500GB external for $79.
