I found this blog post pretty interesting. I really wish it went into a great deal of more detail, but it still talks about the world changing because of the Inter-Webs.
Chaos theory says things are completely predictable, as long as you know all the rules and the complete state of a system. What looks chaotic is really a finely tuned engine working in feedback loops. It's not random at all - every outcome is the effect of a lot of causes.
Marketing, which sounds like a totally boring thing to study, is the reason we all know about YouTube but no one has heard of Guba. It's why Apple has some amount of market share. It's how our world is coming together. |
