We've got parents, a cousin, friends, and my inlaws to buy presents for. I've always tried to not buy most of what goes under the tree from big corporations - if I'm going to give somebody a mass produced product instead of something one of a kind, it's usually a book, or music.
What are your gift traditions?

I've decided to screw over everyone I know and be the grinch.
Nah.
I'm not one who believes you have to buy everyone you know something. I'll be getting gifts for the immediate family and a few close friends and then I'm done. What I get them depends on who they are. If I don't the person well enough to be able to buy them something I don't buy them something.
It always seemed pointless to me to buy a gift someone doesn't want just because I think they might buy me a gift I don't want.
I'll send out some kind of email of ecard to my clients to thank them for being part of my business. Last year I just emailed them each. This year I may toss int he ecard or create a jpg to send them.

I'm still Santa , but both kids pretty much know what they are getting. DarkLink wants a laptop, but I don't think I can pull that one off this year. Instead he is getting an acoustic guitar (I told you he already knew). His sister is getting a Nintendo DS. I always buy them both a big present, then a bunch of cheesy little things. You know, socks, underwear, new toothbrushes. I have no idea what I'm getting my hubby yet...been looking at a couple of hunting blinds, but he has about 8 of them already. Other than the three of them, we draw names and have a gift exchange with my family; hubby's family all buys gifts for kids and we buy each other scratch off lottery tickets and I'll get a few gifts for a few friends.

My family always does this thing where everyone buys a gift. We wrap them up and toss them into a pile, draw number to see who picks first and then we go around and pick the gifts we want. Then we unwrap them.... Here's the fun part: after they're unwrapped we draw numbers again and go around, when its your turn you can choose to stick with what you got or trade with someone else.
The tough part here is buying gifts that anyone would like, I usually go with a box of expensive chocolates or a gift card, mostly because its easy and I don't have a whole lot of time to waste being trampled at the stores.

My parents do that too (not the Santa thing) but buying me and my brother a large present and then some small ones. I got the new iPod nano for Christmas this year - I say "got" not because I'm deluded or extremely tired (although I am) but because I've already used it during my journeys to college - I sit for about an hour on the bus along country lanes and through traffic jams every day in the morning and evening and it was really getting on my nerves - not to mention I have to get up at 6.30ish when I go to college, get home at about 6.30pm at night and then stay up late many nights working on coursework.
My new laptop (well 3 months old) is being partly paid off by my parents too so I guess that could be counted as a Christmas present. I'm not sure how I got onto discussing MY presents rather than what presents I'm GIVING to people, but there we go...
I gave my friends chocolates a few days ago as their presents - and got some in return
That's pretty much everything you'll ever want to know about my Xmas presents - sorry for wasting several minutes of your time on that!!!

Consider getting him an application called Guitar Pro to go with it...

I'm meaner than that (or more traditional). Although the kids know what I have already bought them, they can't have it until Christmas morning .

That probably won't work...he doesn't have his own working computer right now (that's why he signs on at school)...one of the reasons he wants a laptop.

This is one of the most underrated gifts of all time:
Not only does coal heat my house and keeps me warm, it also provides me with electricity (which in turn gives me music and internet access ). If misbehaving all year means getting coal in my stocking, just name the time and place and I'll commit some dastardly acts .

Presentation of gift should be with occasion, status, age, season and relation.

And of course if you squeeze it hard enough for long enough, you could end up with a diamond

My wife has a sister. She helps me all the time with gifts. And all that I need to have - money.
