There's been 2 ground-breaking deals signed within the past 3 days - both are important for the future of our world I believe.
The first was the one signed by all of the E.U. countries - finally agreeing on a document to describe the European Union and what it's primary aims are. This was signed 2 days ago (European time). It replaces the E.U. constitution that was scrapped by France and the Netherlands in 2005. It still remains to be a document that will take a lot of power away from the individual countries and place it in Brussels though. BBC link.
The second one was the deal done at Bali today. This basically says that each country needs to cut carbon emissions "drastically" to prevent catastrophic climate change. The US refused to budge on actually writing down some figures for the targets though and these will be decided in the next 2 years. BBC link.
What do people think of either of these? Both seem pretty significant to everyone's future ultimately. I've got reservations about both agreements - the EU reform treaty still takes away too much power, although maybe not as much as the Constitution would have. The Bali agreement isn't strong enough imo
