It looks like it might be. It's tough for me to tell though, because it seems like he posted in the right place, but he also posted it in a few other places on the web.

It kind of sucks if it is, but........ I'm not sure.

I'd watch to see if he returns, or if it was simply a post to get a link.

Well, I don't want to give new visitors (who are also potential members) a bad first impression and have them think that the first few posts are just spam and turn them away.

That's what I was thinking too, and if it was obvious spam (nokia, apple 8GB, etc.) I'd delete it without question, but this one's different.

It's a hard call. My guess is it is just someone marketing themselves, but they didn't do anything over the top spammy. Why not respond to his thread and see if he comes back to carry on the discussion?

I did give you TP (not for any old reason, but for really helping me out, in post #4 ) Maybe I'm just too liberal with TP, but I guess that's what the changes were for, right?.

Glad to help. You can always remember the TP for a later time if you want, but it's not really necessary.

Well, that's just my point of view...

I agree he's probably a spammer, but I would take the lack of an introduction thread as proof. A lot of people never post one and many only introduce themselves after being on a forum for awhile.

I might use the lack of an introduction as part of the judgment, but I wouldn't base things solely on that.
