It's at Starbucks everywhere. It has her mug shot on the front in black and white. I saw it and thought "This is wonderful! Dan the Automator has a new album out!"

You can imagine my bitter disappointment when I realized it was KD Lang and not Dan the Automator I was looking at.

You misspelled her name, John. You have to spell it in lower case. "k.d. lang" is the "correct' spelling.

I'd just like to apologize on behalf of Canada for unleashing k.d.'s unique brand of Birkenstock music on the world.

But there's a much deeper question...what the hell you doin' in a Starbucks, anyhoo? Starbucks is gross.

I'm not a big fan of The Bux myself. Sort of like how I listen to The Vinyl Cafe (speaking of Canadians) instead of Clear Channel. But a chioce between Starbucks and Texaco for where to get coffee is an easy choice. I think I'd rather drink Texaco's gasoline. (It'd be cheaper!)

On that note (ha ha) not all Birkenstock wearers like k.d. lang. I'm not even wearing their sandles - they make covered toe shoes now.

I think its a regional thing... there are three starbucks within a mile of my apartment... two on my campus and one a short drive down the street. I'm starved for cash but I still go to starbucks fairly often.
