Perhaps you should put a cardboard mockup of a computer in place of the Dell POS, and see if they notice?

It's not truly idiot-proof, though. It has a cord...and that means they can inevitably get their wrist caught in the cord trying to do something.

The scary thing is that I've actually seen someone do that with a mouse before. When I see someone do that with a cordless mouse, I'm checking myself out voluntarily.
