I hope this does not sound like spam because god knows that’s not what I do. Any ways how would you like to make money working right from your home?

I really wanted to know if anyone would be interested in a new project that I kind of had an idea for. It’s called glocalnews.com (right now I am in discussions with the owner of this domain about purchasing it). Any ways if you had not noticed it’s the combination of global and local, and the idea is to have a news site with a simple almost Google like appearance that you type in your zip code on the home page, then the site will not only give you all global news but all local news as well. Anyways it’s just an idea I had, and here is the question, I am a fairly good designer, coding not so much. I can code CSS and html but I have very little PHP and MYSQL knowledge and I know what I want to do will require this, would anyone be interested in putting something together? If not its ok I’ll just learn what I need to know.

O yeah, before I get a whole lot of PM’s saying “my company offers premium SEO and Coding… “There are only a few people on this forum that I would consider doing this with and it won’t be my first time talking with any of them.

Just checking. And no, I don't know PHP or MySQL even close to well enough to do something like that, so don't look in my direction.

How you are planning to gather information?
I mean… are you going to use feeds or you plan to get direct link to source etc.?

Well that’s one of the things that I am still researching, It will probably have to be a combination of both I would like to do automatic feeds for global news links (kind of like the drudgereport.com) ; However it would be impossible to do that for every local zip code, so it would have to be some type of feed.

Three years of college have pretty much turned me into a lifeless code monkey so I do happen to be able to code in PHP and MySQL, as well as a few other things. I am also taking next quarter off for financial reason (I'm broke and summer session is much cheaper) so if you and forrest want some help with coding I'm sure I'll have lots of free time after this week (I hate finals).

I've actually been looking to take on a few projects, hopefully to aid my financial issues but also to keep my skills sharp.
