Personally I think this is 90 % hogwash, but a friend sent me an article that's supposed to be really interesting.

I consider the people on the social network group should once in a while come to live with the reality. Too much of online social meetings are not good for the mental health, imo

I saw an article that related the 80/20 rule to digg, and found it to be pretty close.

It seems that most of the pages that make front page, are originally posted by a relatively small group of people. I'm sure getting one of them in your corner certainly couldn't hurt if you were a blogger trying to drive traffic to your site.
