I also have a Sony Vaio though its a P3 one, still does the job (over 2 years old now).

I have a Sony Vaio P3 and it's oky to say the best...

I got a new HP last week and love it so far. I also got a Fujitsu today and it looks awesome! Supposed to have the best Screen on the market and it looks like it compared to the Dell's, Toshibas and Sony's I've played with and the HP I own.

I'm on the HP right now... this thing is great for the money. I walked out of Fry's Electronics (www.outpost.com) with a 17" monitor, 200gb worth of disk space, ML-40 AMD Processor (64 bit) and 1gb of memory for only $1650 WITH the $250 warranty.

The fujitsu is like $2099 + tax...

Might want to check out HP's ... I've owned 3 now (2 desktops, 1 laptop) and loved every one of them... never had a problem with any of them, honestly. The Sony, I kinda hate.

I'd reccomend getting a MacBook Pro. The low-end now is 2.0 Ghz and you can install windows for all your games (it's screaming fast) and still have Mac OS X and all the fixins for web development.
