Hey guys --
As I sit here in my aging, creaking office chair, twisting and adjusting incessantly trying to get comfortable for long enough to type a word or two..... it occurred to me that I
really need to buy a new chair for my home office.
Truth be told, I've known for a while about this "aching" need but haven't been able to find a chair I could love and call my own.
I've gone to every office store in town..... the Staples, the Office Depot/Max, etc. If there was a chair I sat in it. I looked at the prices and wondered why anyone would pay so much for such uncomfortable eh... junk. Perhaps they're hiding all their better chairs at some other store locations (but not the ones in my neighborhood, of course). :detective:
I then learned that, though the regular old office stores don't seem to carry any of them, there
are evidently some really good chairs... somewhere out there. I read about the
Herman Miller Aeron and fell deeply and irrevocably in love with it. Sure I haven't been able to try it out myself, but it just seems to say "Dave, I'm comfortable... shut up and buy me!". That is until I saw the price (i.e. up towards 4 digits). I've been suffering in limbo ever since; unsure about such an expensive chair, but unwilling to invest in an overpriced heap from Staples or the like.
But the more I think about it..... I sit in an office chair nearly ALL DAY! When I'm not sitting in an office chair, I'm sitting on an even more uncomfortable piano bench while I practice away (my alter ego is a keyboard player). Maybe something that will get used that much, and make that much of a difference is worth such a lofty fee.
Anyhow, sorry for the lengthy "sermon on the chair"

Hey it's late and my back hurts, what can I say?!
So the question: how much is your rear end worth?.... er... would you spend nearly a thousand bucks on a nifty ergonomic office chair, that can do almost everything besides make you coffee? And if so (or if you already have such an
illustrious throne), which chair do you personally recommend?
The top contenders I'm aware of are the
Herman Miller Aeron, as well as the
Steelcase Leap (though I've not read quite as much about this one yet). If there are other good ones, I would love to know about them too.
Thank you in advance for your opinions and advice
