My mom's really been wanting a GPS (her sense of direction is utterly horrid) but I'm not really willing to spend $600 for a good one.

Anyone know of anything $500 and under thats underrated and good enough for normal use?

Get her Garmin SmartPilot c330. I think it's best one in the price range. Now it's less than $500. Simply navigate. Your mom will be happy.
