I just upgraded the OS on my LG VX8100 at the verizon store, and bought an extended battery. They said over-charging was a problem, I said tell me about it...he said, "no i mean the battery."
I also got a 1gig sdMini card for it as a wedding present.
Baloney. In years past NiCads would lose longevity from frequent charging if not used to a low level of charge. Modern lithium batteries do not need a deep discharge cycle.
i thought it was BS too, the box says that the wall charges *do not overcharge*, however, it did become a big problem after I used the car charger a few times in a row.
as for upgrading the phone, you have to actually go into the store.
