IQ Test

I took this little 38 questions test and I'm way above the average with 120 points. :1eye:

Won't load for me, but I've taken them before (more proper ones) and I in the 140's, which is Mensa entry level genius. Too bad it costs like $100 to get in

In a real (psychiatrist administered) IQ test I'm in the 140 range. In online ones I seem to usually fall in 140-160 range (I didn't take this one).

But I don't put much stock in any IQ tests. They usually have a lot of biases built in and generally don't really tell you much of anything.

Some of the questions are "trick" questions that you might have seen before. There is also a time element that can really vary depending on your level of concentration or commitment to the online test. They check the time when they administer you one as well, but it is different.

I'd agree with Bleys and say that they don't mean much. Mine is decent (no reason to post), but I've known people with 200 IQs who were dropouts and idiots, and others with average scores who are imaginative and amazingly successful.

These IQ tests are all the same from website to website. I did a few the other day and all the questions were the same. So I wrote down what answers I did and I got two different scores on the two websites, even though they were the same questions.

IQ's don't really bother me though, it's more of an American thing.

I don't care about IQ, I suck at these kind of tests. Someone told me that he can't believe someone scoring that badly. A couple of weeks ago I took an online iq test just to tell someone the results. Got 118 ...I expected something like 90 ....but as I said, I could care less...

The Tickle IQ test only goes up to 144, I think. (It's in their terms or FAQ or something) In a real IQ test I think I scored 156-157. IQ is an interesting concept. More than anything, I think it measures potential.

Being smart is nice, but being imaginative and creative too is great!

I joined Mensa decades ago (literally) so I don't need some online test to tell me I am a genius :smartass:

That said, an IQ test ultimately shows your ability to do IQ tests. I might have an insane 'IQ' but ask me to hang a shelf or set the washing machine on the right cycle...

What exactly is the Mensa?

I heard that a few times and I deducted it was a kind of association for the "geniuses" or something like that.
