Well, there are a lot of polls like this here lately, so I thought this would be an interesting one.

Do you prefer standard or ergonomic keyboards?

I personally use ergonomic due to the fact that I can type about 5 times as fast with better accuracy on it.

I actually refused to use an ergonomic keyboard for the longest time until one day I ended up getting a few free ones to try out. I decided to give the ergonomic a chance for a week and after the week was over I couldn't go back.

It is so much more comfortable and I highly recommend everyone at least give it a try for a few days. :-)

So, which do you prefer?

I looked at the ERGO keyboard a few months ago and laughed at it. Then, being a guy that cannot leave anything I look at alone, I bought it.

It was immediately more comfortable to type on, but I was missing letters for 2-3 days until I got used to holding my hands in the natural position that these keyboards cater to.

I am totally sold on the ERGO keyboard now. Once you get used to it, it is so much more natural.

I don't use one like 007 posted though. The keys on mine are not seperated to the extent of that picture. It is a Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000, and it is great.

I use an ergo keyboard right now, and I'm looking to upgrade to something a little newer. I'm looking at the Microsoft Ergo 4000 (I think that's what it's called.) It's got great reviews on Amazon and is only $50. Considering the amount of time I spend on the computer, I think it would be a wise investment.

I am also looking at upgrading to a better one. I'm using the basic Microsoft one (like the picture), but want to try some of the newer concepts such as the one Mike mentioned.

I can type equally as fast on both keyboards. However I do prefer standard keyboards. At the moment I have a Logitech cordless keyboard love typing on it. One of the best keyboards I have had.

Got that and the cordless mouse for about £3 on eBay brand new.
