Okay, lately I've been getting a lot of spam comments on my blog... like random characters like "aasfadfasf" with a link. I don't approve these, but when you're getting mid XX comments a day that are spam, how do you moderate them? I don't want to sift through them all.

If you look in the adminpanel of WordPress you see a link in the menu called "Plugins" there you will be able to activate it and probably read about it.
You'll also have to sign up with wordpress.com to get the API key for Akismet. After you enter that then all or most of your wordpress spam will be gone
Thanks for the advice. I had been having this problem too and couldn't figure out what benefit people hoped to gain from something like this:
aadsf [poker link] fefsssj
Oh well... spammers suck.

I think B5Media got some huge deal with Akismet and they are managing their entire blog network against spam (I don't have a link.. i just remember reading that)
I think that there are just those gay people out there who just love to spam up places.. I've received spam from some of my contact forms and have banned the IPs

Probably that too, but mainly people trying to get people to visit their website or gain PR. Too bad they don't know ( I didn't ) that PR isn't passed through a wordpress blog (which mine is) because of the rel=nofollow link.
