Simple question. What will it be like in 5 years? 10? More?

Maybe more than that Matt. A single fingernail-like monitor can make you accessible to the events of the world. What a technology!! Or maybe more!!!

Good luck for all of us to that scenario. Enjoy and have a happy life.

Well as far as web content goes I think the web will be an even better place to find information and higher quality sites just based on the fact of how many people join this business every day. There is too much competition now. If you are running a forum in a good niche and you do something to anger your visitors like too many ads, chances are somebody will be right there to take it over.

Yea its definitely very competitive at the moment, technorati says it all, quoting there being 50 million blogs! a few (ish) years back you would be wondering what the word meant!
There are a lot of large sites that have only been up for a couple of years, should be interesting to see what happens to them.

The ideas and expansions for the internet run through my mind quite a bit when I'm thinking about random stuff. :P
I start to feel bad for older people though...Because it's a shame they never got to enjoy this kind of stuff through their lives and it's such a huge thing they're missing out on.

I see the future in the Internet becoming a little more bigger in that there will be more sites, more competition, more users, more money to be made, but harder to get traffic.

It will be then known as the Innernet. A neural interface will link our brains directly into the Hive Cluster. It will make the Internet of today laughable.
