I was wondering, what if we got a dollar from everyone in the world, how sweet would that be. One dollar from everone in New York City could be enough to retire off of.

Actually, did you know that were are professional homeless? I remember seeing a news special on it on 20/20 or some show a number of years back.

They actually dress up as bums during the day and sit in high trafficed areas such as New York or other large cities, and make a fortune! It seems silly, but think about it. How many people walk by them everyday? A lot. If only a tiny fraction of these people drop $0.50-$1, which they do, you're making bank. Then when their hat or jar or whatever starts to fill up, they empty it in another bag or something so as not to look loaded.

I forget the exact numbers, but these professional bums I believe were reported to make thousands per day.

I remember ages ago, some hackers put a worm in banks, and it took 1c out of most american banks and they became millionaires - they got caught though.

I remember a similar concept in Office Space. Good movie. I never heard about anyone doing it in real life though.

I believe there was a site about a person who asked for one dollar, not sure if he met his goal. Maybe it was Alex Tew in the early days

Yeah I have seen programmes on TV about these professional bums. One of them actually drove a Rolls Royce car and had a massive house, He was taking home like $2g's a week.
