Ok im looking for a laptop and have a budget of 750 uk pounds

which is about

1417.8766 US Dollars

And im going to be using it for these things:

- Design (Photoshop = Must)

- Coding. (Dreamweaver or some good editor like notepad :P)

- General use without lagging.

- Music

- Dvd's

- Wireless net

- Cool look

I want the macbook (normal) but ive heard alot of bad things about it and im kind of leaning towards a sony vaio, any of you guys reccomend a laptop within my budget and is good for my things i would like to use it for?

MacBooks are cool, but if your gonna get an Apple laptop, I suggest MacBook Pro although I think it's above your budget.

Dell 640m.

I've got it (with some upgrades) and was ~£820.

A MacBook was within my budget however you would have to purchase all your software again (which doubles the price really).

HP's are very nice. In fact they have a few that are within your budget. They will do the job and are very powerful.

Good Luck!

I'd go for a MacBook and if not then you can get a nice Dell one for a couple of hundred bucks less. And similiar specs too (Intel Core Duo).

I would think they're just about giving away Dells by now:

Who knows, could be someone just taking advantage of all of the bad battery press, but in the last month or so, I have seen way too many pics of burnt-up Dell laptops.

Curious what's trouble with macbook? My three kids have been using it since last June. It still runs great. No virus, bomb and crash.
