Both are easy to do but proxy would make you more money than an image hosting site.

I'll say Image, as most of my friends dont know what a Proxy site is, and basically have no use for it.

It'd be much easier to monetize a proxy, however it kills the CPU and eats bandwidth like the mcdonalds value menu!

If you can aquire a pretty good name say like PicUpload.com and run a image hosting on it what are the potential earning scenarios , does the profit of the ppc really outweigh what would be spent on bandwith ?

Does anybody run a image hosting site i would like to get some insight on the type of money that could be made from them , a buddy of mine told me the issue is people uploading Child Porn and what not and your site could get shut down.

I run an image hosting site... what do you want to know? I moderate all images so I don't have an issue with porn... but it does take a little more work than if you were to leave it unmoderated.

Bandwidth is pretty cheap these days, depending on how you setup your site and server your operating costs can be pretty low.
