Now you can offer private-labeled email, IM and calendar tools to all of your users for free*, so they can share ideas and get things done more effectively. You can design and publish your organization's website, too. It's all hosted by Google, so there's no hardware or software for you to install or maintain.

I heard about this first at Forum Trends, and it seems very interesting. I'm curious though about some things, so if there are any beta users of this service, feel free (and encouraged ) to help me out:

- How easily can you brand it? Just a logo? Or?
- Can you setup a localised webmail cp on your site or do users have to go to Google?
- Any ideas how much it will cost?

I signed up for it, but I'm wondering how the private lable Google Talk works? Wouldn't it be the same as getting a Google Talk account?

Has anybody used that feature yet? Care to comment?

We are using the hosted email. (Was that my post at Forum Trends that you read?)

We are not offering it to members yet, but with only 10,000 accounts to give out right now, those would fly out way too fast. It looks very much like regular GMail, but you can add your logo. Perhaps in the future there will be more options.

I am not sure about having users access at your site... This was something I really, really wanted. I somehow doubt this will be an option if it remains free.

As far as cost, I expect it to remain free as there are ads as with GMail. I suppose they could offer a more brandable version for a fee.

Any other questions?

I was considering it for my arcade site to offer free email, but I am rapidly growing and about to reach the 10,000 user mark, if it was 20,000 I would probably do it.

Laura,

Can you tell me how you got 10,000 accounts? I have the Gmail Domain beta and it only shows me 25. If I was to use all 25, would it increase?

Also, by "am not sure about having users access at your site...", do you mean log into the email from your website? If so, it's a very easy process to set up. Any HTML person should know how to do passthrough authentication to the Google Login. I did it previously with a billing program on my web hosting company and with an email service I ran through Everyone.net.

Anyone know what sort of companies/organisations they are looking for to use this?

I have a few people using a domain of mine for webmail and stuff just as a friendly thing so they dont have to use hotmail etc, but I'm using some crappy webamil interface so looking for something nice to replace it.
