I used to be ADDICTED to counter-strike. I honestly mean to say it was unhealthy. Hours I'd spend, and I'd look forward to it in school like a drug fiend wants his next hit. It's even scarier given I had 56k! (I wonder if I coulda quit if I wasn't always lagging...)
Anyone else overcome their habit?

Yeah I was a hardcore gamer for 2 years. Joined clans and played from noon to midnight. I played Call Of Duty/Counter Strike Source/Battlefield 2 the most. I joined clans and spent hours just playing with them wasting a lot of time. It was pretty bad.

The only reason I think I got out of it was because I couldnt find time for it in living at college.

I still spend a lot of time on the internet where not even 1% is gaming anymore.

Wow peter ... you gotta get yourself unhooked fast man!

Bp, i can totally sympathize. I used to fight my sister so I could stay on my computer and continue playing, and I'd go on for hours. Counter-strike is a scary *** ****ing game.

Well during the summer I played counter-strike like crazy. 6-8 Hour's a day is crazy to me. Anyways with school coming soon, I have to stop playing or my grades would plummet.

I used to be a Counter-Strike Source gamer, broke the habit. But I wasn't only playing the game, but making money aswell. I owned about 50 servers and each had about 6 paying admins at $50 per month. Net profit was $1700.

I was the leader of a CAL-M clan that should was going to move to CAL-I. But then I quit because it was starting to be the same old thing over and over.

I play PC games casually now, adn every once in a while I'll play a console game. I came to the realization many years ago that there was money to be made online and playing games won't quite achieve that goal.

I can still sit down for hours and play Counter-Strike if I wanted to, but I hardly find the time to start anymore. There is just too much stuff to do.

Somebody's following the money!

Good to see cal gamers here! Maybe one day we'll have the EF CS tourney . I tried setting up a cal-o clan, but my lag was insane and we weren't organized enough, so we usually ended up losing for lack of players. When I wasn't lagging though, I used to be an in-samuel l jackson mother'in-sane cs Italy guy, and de_dust and de_aztec were also favourites. I liked the frozen mini-map there, where you spawned like 100 yards from each other and then ran around the ice columns/walls to go get the other team (or sniped em for the first few minutes, usually... gotta love the aug/sig).

That would be my husband's drug of choice. It doesn't ruin lives all the time - he managed to make a living around it.
