Anyone know where I can get a basic, cheap laptop? I don't want internet capabilities or any fancy ****. I want a processor, screen, windows and word. maybe some ram and a hard drive. I also need two usb ports minimum.

Anyone got a good place for cheap, baaaasic laptops? (No affiliate spamwhores please.)

I've already found brand name laptops for 650 canadian. I'd like to spend -$500, if possible. Basic, like I said. Thanks for the tip Tran.

Where do you live? Do you have a Fry's Electronics near you?
They sell a decent laptop for $349-$399 depending on their sale.

Check out outpost.com - they sell online for Fry's, but I'm not sure if they sell those cheap laptops online. I believe the brand is GQ - the Fry's House Brand.

Microsoft Word on the other hand would cost you $200, but there are other ways of getting it

There are also mimics to Word that open and save files exactly like Word with a similar interface, check out www.OpenOffice.org for the mimic
