LL1 8UN

LL - Town/City
1 - Area in Town/City
8UN - Street ID

I think that's it.

http://golondon.about.com/od/plannin...g/postcode.htm for london post codes.

I don't know many people who would referance an area in the UK/London by just a part of a post code most would just say "South East London" for example.

There are lots of different postcodes for London eg - SE NW W N etc refering to the area of London.

Most UK cities have their own 2 letter code - BA = Bath BS = Bristol TQ = Torquay SP = Salisbury but smaller towns come under their larger neighbours.

So BA1 is central Bath but BA11 is Frome another town 15 miles from Bath.

If you want to find a postcode for any particular place in the UK you can always use the royal mail website.

Where I live at the moment TQ we have a postal strike so it doesn't matter what postcode you put on your letters they won't get delivered - pretty frustrating for an ebay seller

Hope this helps!
