Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter was killed by a stingray while filming an underwater documentary in Australia.

This is such a shame. He was a really cool guy.

He had a string of events where he could of died and his profession was not really one of the safest around :P

I read this over at adminfusion, it's a sad day for the world.

I was a big fan, and personally thought he was a living legend.

He was really cool and did things most people would not even thing of.
But when you live a life like his you know that someday something bad is going to happen.

That is sad, but true.

How sad. Third recordable death by stingray in Australia? Of all the deadly animals he messed with over his career, done in by a friggin stingray.

I posted about this on my forums. It's pretty sad stuff....he seemed like a nice guy. I saw something about him and his wife on some talk show.

It is very sad as he is a person who has touched many of our lives by sharing the natural world around us. At least he died doing what he loved more than anything else in the world. And at least he truly lived every moment of his life and was able to share that excitement and passion with millions during his short time on earth. He will be remembered.

The irony is that he died from a stingray and not a crocodile. Atleast he died doing what he loved.

He was a great guy for sure, but all in all this was just something waiting to happen. It's like playing a russian roulette, but instead of bullets he was playing with dangerous animals. He saw and experienced so many things we'll never see or experience in our whole lives. But i guess his death will teach all those wannabe hunters that if this happened to the Steve Irwin it can happen to them as well.
