Anyone watch Flip That House on TLC?

If anyone is interested in watching, our episode will be airing on September 16th at 8 pm central. They came to film our first flip property last spring. Real estate is an awesome compliment to internet stuff since you can really get your hands dirty when you want to.

Does anyone know how to digitally record the show?

First off, we are half afraid to tell people in case we look like asses, but it's all in good fun.

Buying our first property to flip happened at the very same time that TLC was looking for flippers in our town via Craigslist, so we applied on a whim. We screen tested and they invited us on board.

We had a really great time filming, though we were totally out of our element renovating a house with cameras on our every move! It was interesting, to say the least!

So tune in if you are interested. Otherwise, please ignore.

I don't know what TLC is but I know about recording stuff digitally

You need either a special card (I only know the brand "Hauppauge!") or a simple capture card and a TV software. It's usually as simple as plug-in the cable and install the software, adjust the options for the compression and stuff like that, and begin recording.

The best TV software that I know of is called Beyond TV, I think the soft in itself is free but you have to pay a fee for the integrated TV Guide.

Hope it helps

Laura,

Will you be able to get a copy of the show? My wife and I would love to watch it.

Thank you for the help! I think this laptop has a TV tuner in it... perhaps this won't be so hard!

You don't get cable?

I should have a copy - either digital or stone age - after it airs. I am pretty sure our producer said he would mail one, but I could be dreaming that...

We don't watch TV, so no need for cable or even an antenna.

My parents raised us that way, but I like TV now.

I've got a question for you...

Does the show compensate you in any way?

I have always been curious about this because there are many episodes showing flippers that seem to be going broke trying to flip their house, but I imagine the network pays all the flippers a sum of money for being on the show.

About to head over to the viewing party... The producer called us yesterday and PROMISED that we would be happy with how it turned out. We are SO hoping he's right! I am bringing a bottle of wine just in case... LOL
