If you had to start a new income stream today, and the goal was to build it from $0 to $1000/month, in the shortest amount of time - what would you do to achieve this goal?

This is the big problem with figuring out how to make money...especially online. Ideas are soooo easy to duplicate, nobody in their right mind will give their secrets away.

From time to time, I wonder if there is a good way to find out who's making money online by using a reverse engineer approach? Hmm...

The guy that runs this forum claims to make $50,000/month, and I'm taking a guess that a big chunk of his income probably comes from adsense and other advertising on his various forums/web sites.

One time I saw a guy that had a bunch of packages he was shipping at the post office and figured he probably sold on ebay. I took a sneak peak and got his business name, looked him up on ebay and discovered he sold shoes. He apparantly sells a lot of them, but.. how much profit he makes is another story.

Anyway, just babbling...

If you're looking for an idea, find a niche that's untouched or has a bad market leader... then dominate it.

Yep, I just saw that a couple days ago... it appears that running a forum can be pretty lucrative. I wonder what percentage of his income comes from forums?

A quick way would probably do what Lee does and create communities/fan sites/etc and sell them after it becomes popular enough. I wouldnt do it because I dont have the time and Im not planning on spending life doing this but if you want to make a career of it, try that

Forums are actually very hard to monetize... if you wanna put a little work into it... maybe freelancing? it will be pretty hard to go from 0-1000 in a month
