Well me and my brother both have a rare disease called Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type 1. But my brother has it much worse than I. We go to the National Institutes of Health every 6 months to a year as research patients. Time came last Monday for his first surgery there. To remove his parathyroid glands. So he went in for surgery and got out and was all well. But then his foot started to swell up for some reason. He gained 16 pounds in 2 days because of all the fluid and they are still trying to figure out what is wrong. They think he may have to lose his foot now and he is at a very high rate for a blood clot in his heart (meaning instant death just about). My mom just called me on the phone crying to let me know the latest. I have been home alone the past week going to college and taking care of the house and dog. With this very sad news I am asking that you please take a moment to say a small prayer for my brother, John. 22 is way to early to be even thinking about losing a foot or even death.
