I have to be honest, there is very little use business uses for high power laser pointers. You can't even use them for presentations cos they'll melt the screen and blind your audience. Not the best way of clinching a sale.
But for pleasure!?! They are great. Impressing your friends, using in the bush, burning things, cool experiments, you name it, they can do it. The only problme with these high tech gadgets is their prohibitively expensive.
There is good news though. Ever since I've been into lasers, the main online seller of lasers was www.wickedlasers.com They have a famous brand, good service and high prices. In the last few weeks, www.dragonlasers.com has started selling lasers on line. Their laser's quality so far is good and their prices excellent.
These two online sellers are now engaged in a very fierce no holds barred competition. The laser community ( http://www.lasercommunity.com/viewtopic.php?t=7637) is closely following this competitiuon between Wicked Lasers and DragonLasers with many members taking sides and everyone hoping for a drop in prices.
I'm inclined to think that there will be no clear winner. Wicked lasers will reduce its prices and offer extra features. DragonLasers will take a large chunk of Wick lasers customers and will emerge as a good brand of high power good quality cheap lasers PROVIDING it is able to mantain customer satisfaction.
Either way, i'm waiting till prices fall so i can get a bargain for my next laser. |
