There have been many systems like this but Google found ways of preventing its use as they didn't want the email accounts being used as file dumps. I'm not sure if this new one is endorsed by Google or not. I can't help but think if it was Google would have developed their own system, I suspect that Google will again find a way to prevent this sort of thing from happening
