Alright everyone…I have a VERY exciting announcement to make regarding the fast approaching Elite Retreat conference that myself, Jeremy (Shoemoney) Schoemaker, Aaron Wall, and Dave Taylor are putting on! We have all decided to hold a fun contest where we are giving away 1 free ticket (value of $4,850) to the conference.

To enter for a chance to win free registration to the Elite Retreat, you need to send in an email to ( giveaway(at)eliteretreat(dot)info ) with your contact information (name, email address, phone number, and mailing address) AND your answer to the following question:

“Why should a legitimate business need to worry about SEO?”

If you choose to participate and send in your email, you MUST be ready and willing to book your airfare and hotel reservations right away as the conference is less than 2 weeks away!

Again, send the email in to: giveaway(at)eliteretreat(dot)info

Contest Deadline: Monday, December 11th, 2006 @ 12:00pm CST

It's a trick question I tell you..

I sent my email. Here is what it said!

Let me be quite frank with you guys. SEO is something no legitimate business should worry about. Now of course there are some things every person should know like CRUs or using link farms blah blah blah but SEO in general must the be largest hyped up acronym I’ve ever seen in my life! If you create good content that people want to read you will naturally gain position in the search engines. I use to spend endless hours reading and learning about anything that I could about SEO and all it did was get me deeper in trouble and waste my time when I could have been creating rather than tweaking to everyone’s guesses.

So to answer your question, they shouldn’t. They should worry about the end-user and that is it!

I would like to go to talk to shoemoney Not sure if I can get the time off. whoever wins please tell Aaron I challenge him to enter the seo world championship on January 15th or the world seo championship should run sometime in April I plan on winning both of these. I scored a seo hat trick in december, 3 seo contest checkpoints wins on Dec 1st. Maybe I should be talking instead of Aaron no I am not ready to give up my secrets maybe after the world seo championship games are done.

Not sure if I can get the time off.

I just realized this is somewhat addressed in content written by one the leaders... I would suppose one would get major bonus points for addressing that reference! <zips lips>

I can't justify the airfare but am planting the seeds in my husbands mind for a trip next year. Apparantly there's a (pinball) games and vending conference in vegas next year that friends are going to. I might tag along but will be looking for my own deal to get those tax breaks!
