Boy oh boy what a Monster Digg is.

Needless to say my server choked. I was also on the mainpage of Reddit.com as well at the same time so the amount of traffic I was receiving was insane. Google Analytics tracked 13,000+ uniques for the whole day and 3k+ came within one hour :taz:

The amount of backlinks I have received from other sites, forums, blogs is insane.

If you look at the bottom you can see how many sites are linking to that thread right now.

I am looking at upgrading to a "digg compatible" server right now. The one I have now just can't handle that many connections at once from all those sites.

If you submit a page that uses a database to retrieve info such as a blog or forum, save the page from your browser and upload it to your server. Then if your server ends up crashing your database you can 302 redirect that url to the static version which will be much easier on your webserver and still allow you to keep the original url for backlinks once the effect passes (just remove the 302 redirect)

Ahh but the question is, how much did your revenue increase by? Digg doesn't really help that much with clicks

Enough to make me happy. With IntelliTXT, Tribal Fusion and YPN I was happy. YPN surprised me, from all that I heard about Digg users not clicking I show a nice increase in revenue from YPN.

Whether or not it was actually digg users clicking i dont know. But one way or another the exposure from Digg increased my revenue.

The traffic is still pouring in. Over 300 guests still viewing that forum at 4:24AM lol
