It is not 7am as yet, but the kitchen is already busy, with noise and aroma.
Our guests and my kids are preparing breakfast. They are baking the store bought croissants; frying the bacon; brewing coffee; making orange juice; beating eggs and opening/closing the cabinet's doors asking each others where is this, where is that. It is the first time for our guests, two college students from Italy, in our kitchen; and my kids only come here once or twice a year for a short stay.
I ask them to simmer some cinnamon bark and whole cloves for the inviting aroma of the season. This morning the air turns a bit colder; hopefully we will have snow tonight.
For six of us, we have six boxes of oranges delivered from Texas; and 4 boxes of produce from California. We must leave here by Tuesday the latest. Orange is the theme for this Chirstmas.
