Firefox vs. I.E.
I am quite interested to see how many people actually use Firefox over Internet Explorer(IE). I know these aren’t just the only two browsers out there and I also know there are better ones out there as well, but this article only goes over these two browsers. I personally choose Firefox over IE for several reasons. Up until the release of the new Internet Explorer, Firefox was great because you can have many websites open at once and only have one window open, which made organization great. I did actually check out the updated version of IE and saw that it now has the tabs feature so in comparison that now rules out.

Another reason why I like Firefox better is because of the add ons that I could easily install on it. I have many cool different tools added to my browser to make my life easier. If you find a cool feature that you like that is made for firefox browsers, it’s almost like a one-click installation deal and than the thing works great. Firefox even check for the updates for the program. To top it off, I just feel more comfortable using Firefox because for it never crashes on me and has a nice interface for easy access. Not to mention it is more secure against spyware, trojans and internet viruses.
Percentage of Browser Users

Although, what I don’t get is that why most of my viewers on my websites are IE based. My logic behind it is that normal average Joe has never heard of Firefox or never really cared to get it. I’d like to hear what everyone else thinks. Post a comment on here if you prefer Internet Explorer over Firefox. If so, tell me why.

I had this discussion on my blog, but I wanted to know what everyone here at EF have to say. I don't understand it.

Yeah it seems to me as if Firefox is more of a developers thing. More of something that people use when you spend more than an hour on the computer a week. I.E. comes with most computers so I guess people don't like the change. Any other theories?

IE is nothing but a bloated piece of junk.

As a developer, IE is a huge pain in the butt.

I love Firefox because of the plugins and themes that I can apply to the browser and customize it to just about any way I want.

I use the Earners Forum Firefox extension and use it to navigate this forum and others that I own/frequent. Try that in IE.

On a sidenote, i think it has been hard on Opera. It is a good browser.

I like them both. I had become a Firefox user only for a while until IE7 was introduced. Now I really don't have a preference between either. Both work fast, and both work well.

Oh geez! My first comment simply means that I don't use IE anymore. I was just being comical.

Maybe you should give more of a hint when you do that, than people won't mistake you for a "n00b".

Firefox - if Mozilla hadn't kept developing we'd all still be using IE3.0

PLus FF is customisable and has so many standard features that crap on IE plus they follow webprogramming standards.

Not to mention all the useful extensions

I use FireFox. You will find that more web designers use Firefox these days. I guess it is because when you design a website you should test it out in different browsers and when ever they test it out in different browsers they only then realise how much FireFox is better than IE.

The only reasons way IE is still the most popular one is because it has been around for sometime and is a brand that everyone knows the name of. It's like Google, most people use that because they know it's name and have always used it.

Well, Firefox is slowly getting more popular and if IE doesn't watch, FF will be more popular than them one day.
