Yes that’s right, google search is using image verification to verify if a human searcher is searching for a particular search term.

interesting, it seems that Google is really putting a stop or a dent in the life if hackers, crackers, and spam bots. they have also teamed up with http://www.stopbadware.org/ to help index all the badware from sites.

yup, at first when i got the error i was about to close the browser but then it struck me that i havent seen this before.

This is old news, like 3 months old. I believe Google does this to stop automatic bots from searching their results. This is only temporary and I haven't been seeing it happening recently...
