I wasn't sure where to post this, but i'm guessing here is the right place, if I'm wrong I'm sorry.

I recently launched a site www.singtowin.com (this week).

I've used a couple of forums to see which is the right way to get people to hear about it. Seeing as there aren't any sites like this already on the net.

I searched high and low for sites focusing on musical talent and didn't find any site created purposely for that reason. So i did it myself.

I've been using this forum more than any other to increase my knowledge.

Word of mouth works and has already begun working. However not many of us have 100 friends with an amazing voice, or the guts to upload a video of them self singing.

I am willing to spend around $1000 more or less on advertising the site, giving it a few months to see where it goes.

I am dumbfounded on how many options there are to advertise with.

(I already have an adwords account and it is doing nicely, however only on a $1 budget a day).

I was thinking of doing the following:

-Creating a press release (distributing it by prweb)
-Using PPP to advertise (idea from this forum)
-Using the market place here to advertise also

I have noticed a few "10000 uniques for $200" websites and I'm guessing these are because of pop unders. Has anyone had a success with these? Seeing as my site really needs people with guts who will sing?

Thanks in advance.

agreed, spend 300 bucks or so for a template from a designer. the site has a lot of potential, but its outright ugly.

having played the low-budget adwords thing before, IMO, you're wasting your time with $1 a day. I had mine set to $5 a day, and it would run out before sunrise eastern time every day lol

I'd start a myspace group... try to find indie people who have put music up
