I downloaded Sarfari 3 Beta for Windows and I have to say it's absolutely horrible. IE7 is better, but of course Firefox is by far the best. I can't believe people actually like/use Safari!!!! All text is big and messy, tiny text is fuzzy and hard to read, and it's interface is all one color and it's hard to navigate as quickly as I do in Firefox. Don't even download it.

I think it's blazing fast, IE renders pages HORRIBLY slow, but I agree that the text in safari is blurry. I haven't looked at the preferences to see if this is an option some where so I can't conclude that it sucks, but I'll probably stick with firefox and just use safari for browser testing.

Nice not having to IM my friend with a Mac all the time to have him test web pages for me though.

Firefox is the only web browser that exists.

As a developer, I'm very excited about the Safari release for windows. I downloaded it the second I saw it on digg yesterday. Now I'm able to check how IE, Opera, FF and Safari render sites differently all on one machine.

The speed is awesome and I absolutely love how Safari renders the fonts. It's very elegant, and makes it easy to read. Steve Jobs is very educated in calligraphy and talks a little about the history of him and calligraphy here and makes a funny comment how windows copied mac (around 3:15). YouTube - Steve Jobs Stanford Commencement Speech 2005

For those who haven't tried it, Apple - Safari 3 Public Beta - Download

There's a reason so little people use Safari on OS X

I tried it out on Windows, and it was nice but I don't think I'll be switching from Firefox.

as a developer, i would suggest you get a browsercam.com account or one of their competitors.

based of my experience, the safari beta on win is NOTHING like safari 2 on mac.

The text blurry in Safari is probably just bringing the trend from the Mac platform for having fonts smoothing, rather than the ugly sharp text on a pc.

I've never used safari before is it any good? Probably not. I use to love firefox but ever since getting Vista the new IE is actually very good so not sure if I will go back.

Well IE has always been and will continue to be (unfortunately) ages behind both Safari and Firefox. Having said that, I do use Firefox on my Mac, due to its various add-ons. I know Safari has Saft and other nice plugins, but when Safari is updated all the important plugins break, which is unacceptable. As a developer and designer, Firefox does the job for me - right!
