This time last year, Earners forum was alive and kicking - and it had a ton of active members always posting new content... What has happened? Has everyone moved away from this place and found a new hangout?
Can, we as users, do anything to help revive this community - or is it all on its staff and management?

I don't know about EF in particular but I've been in online communities for about 15 years now and the common wisdom is that if your favorite forum is dying, instead of pointing it out to everyone you need to take some action and start posting some relevant topics yourself.
Personally, between my "day job" and the Thirty Day Challenge, I'm so buried I can barely read my favorite forums, much less find time to hang out in my pool and enjoy the tail end of summer.

I think the users can certainly help as you are who make the community. As a staff we can always be more active, but then again how much can I ask of these guys who volunteer their time to be here every day. I have invested many thousands of dollars in to what we have here, more than any other community I have ever owned. I think we all just need to invite others and post more often really.

Well, I'm going to try my best, but I wanted to point it out, to see if anyone wants to help out and try to revive this place.

Its alright - some of the orientation stuff we're doing is kinda dull, but they've had a few good speakers and stuff. Classes don't actually start till Monday but I'm enjoying it so far.

Management Information Systems? That so happens to be my major...I graduate in May
I've already got a good, full-time job offer ("real world job"), but just recently I've decided to take a stab at making serious money online. I'm like you, one day I plan to simply work full time at home on my own. My plan is to work my "real" job and then work part-time online. Once I feel comfortable with what I'm making online, I'll quit my 8-5 and never turn back :1eye:
My advice to you would be to go ahead and start working hard online, if you haven't already. Unfortunately for me, I waited until a year from graduation to get serious about it...At this point, it wouldn't be very smart for me to pass on a stable income in the real world in hopes of making enough online. So, what I've got to do is go ahead and take the real world job until I feel comfortable online. You have 3-4 years to do that...So you could very realistically be making a full-time salary online before you graduate. That would be ideal
Sorry to keep the thread off topic...but I suppose it is good to be discussing making money instead of the lack thereof :thumbup1:

They just call it Information Systems here but I think its the same thing. Right now I'm pre-info sys and next year or so I have to be accepted into the field by having a certain gpa I believe.
Yes, I've been getting some good ideas over the summer about what kinds of websites I'd like to run and now that I'm all settled in I'm going to take action on those. Like you said, my goal is to make a full-time salary online by the time or before I graduate.
Also, I'm glad to see you've become more interested in the online business. I remember once you saying that it wasn't for you but I think with what I've seen you've got what it takes.

i think it has to do with a few things. Some people are closed off on how they do things. I havent been here in a while so i dont really know how its been but what pushed me more over to digital point was the lack of community you had here.
maybe its the badges. the usergroups , who knows really. i just know from personal experience that if i need something i need to go to DP and thats probably why this place is going down hill.
im sure EF will keep its loyal members just like SP ,DP ,WF etc. so time is all it needs. just ranting on cause i have noticed the down fall. maybe people just expected to learn more from the big earners and got frustrated with the generalized answers.

I think more frequent smaller contests could be financially reasonable to run and return a lot more activity. I remember the big contest when EF opened had me interested,,, and all the activity.
