Back in 2004 I decided to create a photoshop tutorial forum, tutorialtomb.com - We wrote lots of tutorials and submitted them to good-tutorials.com, it was a user ran site, many users wrote tutorials and submitted them to GT themselves. About 3 months after creating it, I decided to list it for sale on sitepoint. I managed to sell it for $9,000 - I thought this was a large amount of money, I was only 14. I bought a laptop and a few other things, I then went on to partner with my friend Andrew (myspacesupport.com) and create deltox.com - it was a rather lame myspace resource site, very plain and boring - no layouts, a few generators and codes, but it was back in 2004/05 when resource sites were scarce. We built it up and then he decided to change the name to myspacesupport.com - he took the site and cut me out.. boohoo! (I wasn't going to let this get me down though, after selling a site for $9,000 I had great confidence in creating yet another successful website.) I started writing xenra.com - I was on work experience in grade 10 at school, I was 15 and I had limited knowledge, but with my friends help Andy (coshed.com) we managed to launch xenra. I used some of the money from tutorialtomb.coms sale to pay few teenagers to promote the site through myspace bulletins. I managed to get around 10,000 unique visitors in the first day.
Many of you may not know, but back in 2005 when somebody posted a bulletin with 20,000 friends, advertising the never seen myspace codes & myspace layouts, it brought hundreds (500+) of visitors to my site within seconds. I earnt a around $150 a day for the first week or so, and then it rose to $400 a day. I went from earning $20 a day on tutorialtomb to $400 a day on a brand new niche (I didn't even own a myspace account!). After a while, myspace filtered my website, xenra.com didn't work on myspace no more : (. I didn't let this get me down though, I just moved the site to gazzump.com and proceeded updating and promoting at a steady pace.
In January 2006 I decided to make myspacegeeks.com my main website. I started coding and link exchanging, promoting etc. My highest day was around 300,000 unique visitors. I received offers of $7xx,xxx from LiveUniverse for my site, which I rejected. I've earnt over $1,000,000 since I sold tutorialtomb.com and I've been one of the well-known myspace resource sites for years, I have a decent knowledge with SEO, I am currently sixth on google for Myspace Layouts and first for Myspace Codes, earning around $70,000 a month - hitting 40,000 - 50,000 unique visitors daily.
Well, thats my story.
