f you saw a bum on the street - would you give them cash and try to help them live their life or would you just walk away?

That's a hard question. I live in Las Vegas and many of the bums are people who got caught up in the "game" (gambling). You gotta give to receive though, so I do give them a dollar sometimes. But I can't do that with everyone or I'd end up as a bum as well.

I'd walk away. Helping them "live their life" may involve them using the money I give them for something harmful. Giving money to bums is for tourists.

Money is not going to help people like that. All it will do is tide them over temporarily. Actually in a way it reinforces what they're doing.

Yep I have no problem giving to different charities and organizations but giving to homeless people on the streets doesn't help them, it only furthers their cycle.

I would not give money to a homeless person, I would probably use the money to go and buy something to eat for him / her.

A couple of muffins, a hamburger from McDonalds... Something like that.

I think it's better for them, if you ask me.

I would use my money to buy them foods or clothes. I would also donate some to charities.

I used to give money to bums... until I joined the military- I was busting my you know what on a daily basis for pennies on the dollar! There is plenty of work out there that they can get! They just might have to work kind of hard, and thats something that they don't want to do. Plus, there are tons of temp services out there that will literally take people off of the streets to fill positions!

My advise... instead of giving them cash, give them a newspaper- the job section to be exact.

i would give them free advice and a few buck to help em get the tools i tell em about.

what about steve peirce who was practically a bum on the street who came good and made millions of dollars online. That is a try rags to riches story.
